For the management of policies and programs related to environmental sanitation, the Health department is in charge of providing strategic and administrative leadership. The Department is responsible for developing technical standards and specifications for the provision of environmental sanitation services, as well as offering guidance on the creation and assessment of environmental sanitation policies and programs.

The Department oversees all operations and maintains daily administration to ensure that the division runs smoothly. The Department coordinates the use of engineering concepts and techniques in the resolution of waste management issues to provide effective and efficient management of sanitation within the Municipality.

The Health section also oversees the environmental sanitation quality assurance process and coordinates with agencies to handle complicated environmental sanitation issues that call for cross-sectoral cooperation.
